Carlsbad (January 28): Boasting a combination of Flight Control Technology (FCT) and Movable Weight Technology (MWT) that together promote up to 75 yards of side-to-side trajectory adjustability, TaylorMade has uneveiled its eagerly-awaited R9 and R9 TP Drivers. Sean Toulon, TaylorMade's executive vice president of innovation, said: "Five years after the debut of the r7 quad, the time has come to unveil the next revolution in golf club adjustability, a revolution made possible by a technology so ground-breaking that it warrants a passing of the torch. Asian Tour Supremo Han Lashes Out At Proposed 'Super Series'

Singapore (January 25): Asian Tour supremo Kyi Hla Han has lashed out at the PGA of Australia over its announcement of the launch of an Asia-Pacific 'Super Series'. In a statement on its website on Saturday, the Australian body said a six-leg series would commence in April, including three events in China, two in Australia and one in Korea. It said there would be a 'full-scale' launch in 2010. Responding to the revelations, Asian Tour executive chairman Han said: "The Asian Tour strongly condemns the actions of PGA of Australia. The Asian Tour is shocked and disapproves of this desperate attempt by the PGA of Australia to revive its flagging domestic circuit, through its proposed creation of a series by listing events which are already part of the Asian Tour schedule."

Augusta National Adventure In Store For Japanese Teen Star Ishikawa

Tokyo (January 23): The news just keeps getting better for Japanese teenage sensation Ryo Ishikawa. No sooner had confirmation of his first two professional appearances in the United States been announced than even bigger news was breaking - a Major championship debut at April's US Masters. To the delight of his millions of fans in Japan, the precocious 17-year-old has received a 'special foreign exemption' from the powers that be at Augusta National. Augusta National chairman Billy Payne said: "At a young age, Mr Ishikawa has shown the skill and competitiveness to make him a deserving recipient of this invitation."

Lin Eager To Continue In 2009 Where He Left Off Last Year

Bangkok (January 21): Chinese Taipei star Lin Wen-tang is eyeing a successful title defence when he headlines next month's season-opening US$300,000 Asian Tour International. Winner of two titles en route to a career high second place on the Order of Merit last season, Lin will be joined in the field by local heroes Thaworn Wiratchant, Boonchu Ruangkit and Prayad Marksaeng and recent Qualifying School winner Daisuke Maruyama of Japan. The Asian Tour International will be played at Suwan Golf and Country Club from February 5 to 8.
