Garcia Confident Of Ending 18-Month Victory Drought
Madrid, Spain (May 26): Sergio Garcia goes into this week's Madrid Masters at Real Sociedad Hipica Espanola Club de Campo determined to clinch his first win for 18 months.
The Spanish Ryder Cup star is without a top-three finish on the European Tour since winning last season's inaugural Race to Dubai event at the HSBC Champions in Shanghai.
That victory had taken him to number two in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), but he has since fallen to 32, and currently would not automatically qualify for Colin Montgomerie's Ryder Cup team at The Celtic Manor Resort in October.

While many in the field have wasted more effort complaining about the changes to the West Course, Donald has gone quietly about his business. Rounds of 68-68 for a six-under 136, good for a one-shot lead over a trio of players, prove that the newly revamped West Course is eminently playable.
