Australian Ogilvy Trumps England's Casey In Match Play Final

Phoenix, Arizona (March 2): Australian Geoff Ogilvy has secured his second victory in the World Golf Championships - Accenture Match Play.
Displaying few signs of weaknesses, Ogilvy completed an outstanding - and gruelling - week by defeating England's Paul Casey 4 & 2 in the 36-hole final at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club.
Winner of the event in 2006 and runner-up in 2007, the victory was the Australian's third World Golf Championship title, sixth US Tour triumph and fourth European Tour win, sending him to the top of the Race To Dubai.

Kuala Lumpur Summit Date For South African Legend Player

Singapore (February 25): It's official! Gary Player, one of the game’s true legends, has confirmed that he will make the cut for the 2009 Asia Pacific Golf Summit.
The Grand Slam golfer will be one of six world-class speakers who will deliver a major keynote address at the Summit, to be held in Malaysia from October 26-28.
Mike Sebastian, managing director of Asia Pacific Golf Development Conferences Pte Ltd, the Summit organiser, said: "We are delighted that Gary Player has accepted our invitation to be a keynote speaker at the 2009 Summit."

Singapore (March 2): The world’s top golfers are, at times, a travel-weary group; spending sometimes as much as 30 or even 40 weeks of the year on the road. Despite that, the stars of the women’s game have been eagerly anticipating arriving in the Lion City for this week’s HSBC Women’s Champions.
The world number six Angela Stanford, the hottest player on the planet at the moment having won three of her last seven tournaments, said she had been counting the hours before she made the short hop from last week’s Honda LPGA Thailand.
“I can’t wait to get to Singapore. I love Singapore,” said the 31-year-old American who, by her own admission, is one of the least enthusiastic travellers on the Tour.

'I Aim To Be The Next Tiger Woods', Says Jubilant Lee

Perth, Western Australia (February 22): New Zealand teenager Danny Lee underlined his reputation as one of golf's outstanding young prospects by upstaging his professional rivals to win the Johnnie Walker Classic in memorable fashion.
The 18-year-old showed no signs of nerves as he snared four birdies in the final six holes to finish on 17-under-par at The Vines Golf and Country Club.
Lee, who was born in South Korea but emigrated to New Zealand with his family when he was aged eight, has long been touted as a star of the future. Based on his performance here, he's already close to the top of the game.

Proud Prayad Primed For Westwood Challenge

Arizona (February 24): There will be no holding back for Thai standout Prayad Marksaeng when he embarks on an American odyssey this week which he hopes will lead him all the way to the US Masters in April.
The talented Asian Tour star will become the first Thai to compete in the elite 64-man WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship at Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Marana, Arizona starting on Wednesday and he aims to pull off some surprises, starting with his first round match against England’s Lee Westwood.
Currently ranked 53rd in the world, Prayad knows he has every opportunity to break into the top-50 which would earn him a second appearance at the Masters, the year’s first Major.
