Pebble Showdown For Young Guns Ishikawa And McIlroy


Pebble Beach, United States (June 12): Ryo Ishikawa will lock horns with young rival Rory McIlroy in the opening two rounds of next week's US Open Championship. The 18-year-old Japanese sensation Ishikawa and 21-year-old Northern Irishman McIlroy are two of the hottest properties in the game and are sure to raise the temperature when the second Major of the year tees-off next Thursday. Completing an intriguing three-ball will be American great Tom Watson, a past champion at Pebble Beach who came within a whisker of winning last year's British Open at Turnberry when aged 59.

Damai Indah's PIK Confirmed As Indonesia Open Venue


Jakarta, Indonesia (June 8): Enjoy Jakarta will continue its association with professional golf in the region as Presenting Sponsor for the Indonesia Open, which makes its debut on the OneAsia schedule next month. The Indonesia Open presented by Enjoy Jakarta will be played at the Damai Indah Golf - Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) Course from July 1-4 and boast prize money of US$1 million. The tournament also breaks new ground on the OneAsia playing platform, which has more than doubled in size to 11 tournaments this year with a total of over US$12 million in prize money to be won.

It's Time To Vote In 2010 Asian Golf Monthly Awards


Singapore (June 3): They’re back! For the 11th year in succession, readers of Asian Golf Monthly are tasked with the duty of voting for their favourite courses and clubs in the Asian Golf Monthly Awards, the region’s golf industry ‘Oscars’. In total there are 25 reader-led categories in the 2010 Asian Golf Monthly Awards, an increase of three from last year. It’s broken down into 10 ‘Best in Asia Pacific’ segments and 15 ‘Country-by-Country’ sections, including, for the first time, a designated category for Best Course in the Middle East. The two new ‘Best in Asia Pacific’ categories in 2010 - Best Golf Destination in Asia Pacific and Best Golf Destination outside Asia Pacific - offer further evidence that golfers know no boundaries when it comes to searching for the ‘perfect’ golfing getaway.

Ohio, United States (June 1): Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson may well take centre stage, but a strong Asian contingent will be aiming to grab a slice of the limelight at this week’s Memorial Tournament. In recognising the impact made by Asian players, tournament host Jack Nicklaus has invited reigning Asian Tour number one Thongchai Jaidee, 2007 Order of Merit winner Liang Wen-chong of China and Korean teen titan Noh Seung-yul, who is currently ranked second, to compete at Muirfield Village Golf Club. Other Asian stars who will feature in the US$6 million PGA Tour tournament include two-time Asian Tour number one Jeev Milkha Singh of India and Korean heroes KJ Choi and YE Yang, Asia’s first Major champion.
